A new 3-D multi-fluid model with the application in bubble dynamics using the adaptive mesh refinement

Violent pulsating bubbles behave diversely in different circumstances. It is a multi-scale problem both space and time. In 3-D problems, the numerical simulation usually too expensive to implement practice with fixed grid. this paper, multi-fluid model established based on Eulerian finite element method adaptive mesh refinement technique investigate bubble evolution its toroidal motion near solid vertical wall. The mixture formula for compressible flow adopted ensure conservativeness. By means of block-based refinement, accuracy efficiency are well balanced. present validated by comparing results an underwater explosion experiment existing results. agree fast convergence observed. Then, several cases buoyancy parameters simulated, their pressure load wall analyzed. bubble’s exhibits complex physics, such as formation crescent-shaped bubble, air cushion effect during jet penetration, nonlinear relationship between impact angle opposite surface.
